A trippier idea I’ve been working on the last few days. Still trying some new arrangements for this demo though so I may be reposting a new audio of this soon.

this needs to be seen.
I watched Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close the other night
And I hated it, because I couldn’t stand the kid and there were an exceeding amount tropes relating to the rainman, ambiguous disorder, anger montage, and deceased parents are the best.
But, I can understand why a whole lot of people would like it, and you EarthBound fans might be especially interested to know of a number of parallels I picked up on:
- the movie involves a young boy venturing out on his own doing things kids shouldn’t do.
- bringing with him and collecting various mundane yet potentially significant objects.
- routinely entering the homes of complete strangers, and proceeding to have them easily open up their life stories to him.
- the countless encounters all seem pointless and a waste of time during the journey, but turn out to be the most fondly remembered and important part of it all in the end, becoming something of an extended family.
- one of them is a glamorous transvestite who gives him a frilly drink.
- issues of parental loss/distance, and a parent who turns out to be much closer than originally thought all along.
- he has a friend named Minch.
